Fernando Torres scored two goals to lead Chelsea to a 5-0 UEFA Champions League win over Belgian Pro League champions KRC Genk at Stamford Bridge in London on Wednesday night.
Torres and fellow former Liverpool player Raul Meireles put the hosts up 2-0 within eleven minutes of kickoff. Torres added his second in the 30th before Branislav Ivanovic and substitute Salomon Kalou compounded Genk’s misery with goals in the 42nd and 72nd minutes respectively.
With two wins and a draw from their opening three matches, a win at Genk on November 1st will all but seal qualification to the UCL Round of 16 for the Blues.
