The club was founded in 2004 as a joint stock company – the first in Peru. It then bought Club Sport Coopsol’s place in the First Division. Shortly thereafter in 2008, San Martín won the Peruvian first division title.

Here’s a look at several San Martín players in the club’s 2010 home and away Umbro kits. The kit designs used seem reminiscent of those used for the Sunderland AFC 2009/10 Umbro home kit.
