Ireland upset reigning Tri-Nations champions Australia by a score of 15-6 in the teams’ Saturday’s Rugby World Cup Pool C meeting at Eden Park in Aucland, New Zealand.
Ireland men Jonathan Sexton and Ronan O’Gara converted two penalties apiece while Sexton added a decisive drop-goal to give their team its second win of the tournament.
James O’Connor’s penalties were all that the IRB ranked #2 Wallabies muster as they will now seek to recover against the USA on the 23rd.
