Formed in 1964 via the merger of two local Brøndby clubs, Brøndby IF has won 10 national Danish football championship titles and five national Danish Cups since joining the Danish top-flight football league in 1981.
The club has also featured a host of Denmark internationals including Michael Laudrup, Brian Laudrup, Peter Schmeichel, Ebbe Sand and Daniel Agger.
On Thursday, the Brøndby IF Hummel 2012/13 away kit was launched. As with the Brondby IF 12/13 home kit, its design was inspired by the club’s the championship jerseys from the 1987, 1990 and 1991 season when Hummel was also the club’s technical sponsor.
The inspiration from Brøndby’s championship jerseys resulted in the Hummel-angles being woven into the kit fabric for a definite retro feel.
In recognition of the club’s founding the numbers “1964” are embroidered on the outer back of the neckline.
Finally, in support of Hummel’s “Change The World Through Sports” campaign, the program’s logo is printed on the inner neck area of the new Brøndby IF Away jersey.
The Brøndby IF Hummel 2012/13 away kit will be worn for the first time in match action during Sunday’s Danish Superliga meeting with AaB.
