The Scotland Rugby 2012/13 alternate jersey (available soon at World Rugby Shop, Kitbag Rugby and Lovell Rugby) from technical sponsor Canterbury was unveiled at the Omni Centre in Edinburgh on Wednesday. It will be worn for the first time against New Zealand in next month’s EMC Test.
According to the Scottish Rugby website: The New Scotland Alternate Test jersey features an enlarged Scottish saltire and is the ultimate slim fit high performance test jersey. It is a cut & sew construction with tonal taping with a specially positioned grip material to enhance gathering and gripping of the ball.
This jersey features the ‘Loop 21’ neck design providing superior fit comfort and integral strength. This test jersey is finished with embroidered logos with the transfix sponsor logo to the front.
Scotland is currently ranked ninth in the world by the IRB. The team has made the quarter-finals of the Rugby World Cup on five occasions and was a semi-finalish in 1991.
