Defending Romanian Liga I champions FC Oţelul Galaţi are currently campaigning in the UEFA Champions League for the first time after five previous appearances in the UEFA Cup / Europa League.
The Galați-based club is grouped matched with Manchester United, FC Basel and SL Benfica in Group C of the competition. After falling to Basel and Benfica in Matchdays 1 and 2 of the UCL, Oţelul Galaţi will host 2010/11 competition finalists Manchester United on Tuesday.
Here is a look at the FC Oţelul Galaţi 2011/12 home jersey (or tricou in Romanian) that the team will wear against United tonight. It is made by Dutch sportswear firm Masita.
Of note is that the Oţelul Galaţi jersey bears the logo of sponsor ArcelorMittal.The steel company is owned by part-owner of the English Premier League’s Queens Park Rangers, Lakshmi Mittal. Mittal is said to be an investor in FC Oţelul Galaţi.
