adidas and la Federación Mexicana de Futbol (FMF) officially presented the Mexico 2016 home jersey. The new shirt see El Tri return to their classic green after wearing a black primary kit over the last year. It will be available at World Soccer Shop and Kitbag.
The Mexico men’s senior national team will debut their 2016 adidas home kit on March 29 at El Estadio Azteca when they host Canada in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier. The jersey will also be CONCACF’s top ranked team’s first choice kit during this summer’s Copa América Centenario.
Released using the theme “¡Esta es la nuestra!” (This is ours!), the Mexico 2016/17 adidas home jersey uses a classic ribbed v-neck. A series of tonal vertical stripes run on its front and back while adidas’ three stripes run along its sides.
Flashes of red appear on the inside and outside back collar while “México” is printed in a stylized font on the shirt’s signoff area. In keeping iwht tradition, white shorts and red socks complete the new “Selección Nacional de México” (Mexican national team) uniform.
adidas athletes Miguel Layún (FC Porto), Carlos Vela (Real Sociedad) and Andrés Guardado (PSV Eindhoven) led adidas Mexico’s launch of the new kit. Oribe Peralta, Paul Aguilar, Eduardo Herrera, Hirving Lozano, Luis Fuentes, Rodolfo Pizarro and Erick Gutiérrez joined in for the unveiling event on Thursday evening.
