Palmeiras Release 2014 adidas Centenary Kit

Published on

Eight-time Campeonato Brasileiro Série A Palmeiras have released the fourth adidas kit their centenary. After launching home, away and third kits throughout 2014, the well São Paulo-based giants have unveiled what they’re calling their “1914-2014 Centenary” jersey (or “camisa Centenário” in Portuguese).

The latest Palmeiras adidas shirt (available soon at Subside Sports and UK Soccer Shop) pays homage to the club’s root in São Paulo’s Italian community of the early nineteen hundreds by using the famous blue of the Italy national football team as its base color.

An arc of taping runs across the jersey’s upper back in the green, red and white of the Italian national flag. Taping in these colors is also used on the sides of the kit.

Like the Palmeiras 2014 adidas away jersey, the 2014 centenary kit uses a classic crest worn by the team from 1914 to 1942 when it was named Palestra Italia. Both were worn in a 2-1 Copa EuroAmericana win over Fiorentina on Wednesday night.

The Palmeiras “1914-2014” centenary adidas outfield player shirt is accompanied by a goalkeeper shirt in the renowned canary yellow and green of the Brazilian national team.
