Relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season, Southampton Football Club has revealed its 2023/24 home kit.
The jersey is a collaboration with technical partner hummel, the Danish sportswear brand that is celebrating its centenary this season. It is inspired by the legendary 1987/89 Southampton jersey that was worn by Saints legends such as Matt Le Tissier, Alan Shearer, Franny Benali, and the Wallace brothers Danny, Rod and Ray.
The kit is part of a series that pays tribute to different aspects of the Southampton FC crest via a campaign, called ‘For the Badge’, that aims to honor and celebrate the history of the club badge.
The Southampton 2023/24 hummel home kit features the Hampshire rose – a symbol of the city of Southampton. Miniature representations of the rose run throughout the jerseyin the form of a tonal print. A larger version of the flower is placed on the shirt’s nape.
The Southampton FC 23/24 hummel home uniform is completed with black shorts and white socks.
Southampton begins its quest for an immediate promotion back to the Premier League with an EFL Championship meeting against Sheffield Wednesday on August 4th.
