Palmeiras 2017/18 adidas Away and Third Kits

Last season’s Campeonato Brasileiro Série A champions Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras recently launched their 2017/18 away and third kits. The new jerseys join the Verdão (Big Green) 17/18 home and limited edition shirts in their latest playing range.

The kits celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the club’s 1942 Campeonato Paulista ( São Paulo State Championship) title. It was the first following a name change from  Palestra Italia  to Palmeiras because of Italy’s part in World War II.

The Palmeiras 2017/18 adidas away and third kits both take design inspirations from the shirts worn by the club in 1942. The away jersey has a white base with green vertical stripes that fade to white towards the waistline. Its v-neck and sleeve cuffs are also in Palmeiras’ green. “E Nasce o Palmeiras Campeão” and “1942” are printed on the outside upper back in recognition of the club’s eleventh state title in the red and green of the Italian national flag.

Palmeiras’ new third kit is dark green with golden accenting. Its simple v-neck design is based on that of many past Palmeiras home kits including that of the 1942 season. It carries a retro-styled crest like all of the club’s other current match shirts apart from their limited edition jersey.
