Today New Balance officially revealed the new 2016/17 FC Porto European kit. The shirt has been launched as part of the ‘Outro Nível’ (Another Level) kits campaign for the 2016/17 season.
New Balance’s latest design for FC Porto’s Euro kit seeks to disrupt the oppositions’ pattern of play with vibrant Cyber yellow and a zig zag design over traditional horizontal stripes which are designed to disorientate the opposition. Blue flashes at the ends of the stripes have also been built into the kit, aiming to provide players with clear visibility to pick out their teammate.
Richard Wright, General Manager of New Balance football said: “The FC Porto Euro kit completes an exciting collection for the 2016/17 season. The combination of horizontal stripes paired against dissecting geometric shapes, along with the NB Dry fabric, has resulted in a kit that is visually dynamic but also allows our players to perform at the highest levels.”
The FC Porto 2016/17 third kit is completed with yellow shorts and socks, featuring Oporto blue trims and embellishments. To offer added support to the ankle, the socks have built in comfort zones while the foot bed has been developed with polypropylene to help alleviate excess moisture when the foot makes contact with the boot.
The goalkeeper kit is constructed with engineered Flex fabric panels to offer a greater range of movement. These Flex zones are called out by contrast heat transfers. The Thunder grey and Cyber yellow design is completed with matching grey shorts and socks.
Ruben Neves, FC Porto’s star midfielder and the youngest player ever to captain a team in the Champions League (FC Porto 2015/16) said: “The games are always massive occasions for the team and our fans. The kit is a bright one, and I really like it, I know the team and the fans will too. We’re looking forward to standing out when we wear this on the pitch.”
