Up-Close: Rwanda 2015/16 AMS Home Kit

Published on

In less than a year Australian sportswear firm AMS has signed kit deals with the Sierra Leone, South Sudan and Rwanda football federations. The last deal inked by the fledgling company was with the Rwandaise de Football Association (FERWAFA) the last month.

The latest addition to the Football Fashion shirt collection is the Rwanda 2015/16 AMS home kit (now available at Subside Sports and UK Soccer Shop). Here is our World Exclusive look at the latest soccer jersey to come out of talent laden Africa.

The Amavubi 15/16 primary kit uses a novel design from AMS that was first seen via Sierra Leone’s latest away shirt. It is highlighted by a classy Y-neck collar in the blue of that occupies a third of the Rwandan national flag.

The rest of the shirt is in the yellow from the flag. The standout feature of the jersey is a sublimated print of a large sun on its front. A sublimated print of “AMAVUBI” (WASPS) is on the lower back of the kit. The end result is an eye-catching product that looks great for everyday use, casual matches and working out.

The Rwanda 2015/16 AMS home shirt is made up of a lightweight polyester material. While the fabric is pretty basic and not quite the high-end material that you’d find on player issue kits from adidas, Nike or PUMA, it does its job in providing comfort and wicking away moisture. It’s also quite comfortable on the skin.

The fit of the jersey is slightly on the bigger size. This may be in line with the traditional looser shirt fits that we’ve seen many African national football teams seem to favor (perhaps because of the hotter temperatures close to the Equator). We recommend going a size down if you want a slimmer looking fit.
