The 2023/24 season will see Spanish LaLiga giants FC Barcelona wear a unique Nike home kit that pays tribute to the women’s team. The jersey features the traditional blaugrana stripes with a special detail: a diamond-shaped badge.

The diamond symbolizes the first time that a Barça women’s team played at the Spotify Camp Nou stadium in 1970, a milestone that showed the club’s leadership and innovation in both sports and society. The new shirt was launched using the motto ‘Here, to lead the way’ to celebrate the success of the current Barça women’s team, who have won multiple trophies and inspired future generations.

The diamond badge on the FC Barcelona’s 2023/24 Nike home jersey is inspired by the crest of the Penya Femenina Barcelonista, the first female supporters club that was founded after a historic women’s football match at the stadium on Christmas Day in 1970. That match was the result of a letter that Inma Cabeceran sent to the president of FC Barcelona at the time, Agustí Montal i Costa, proposing to create a women’s football team. The team was officially recognized in 2002 and has since become one of the best in the world.

The FC Barcelona women’s team has since won the UEFA Women’s Champions League title in 2021 and 2023. Team captain Alexia Putellas won the 2021 and 2022 FIFA Best Women’s Player and Ballon d’Or titles.

The Barcelona 2023/24 Nike home kit celebrates this legacy of excellence and innovation, with blaugrana stripes inspired by the team’s emblem. Barca says that the players who wear this jersey are role models for the next generation of footballers who dream of following their footsteps.
