AC Milan unveiled their 2014/15 adidas third kit. It will be available at World Soccer Shop, Subside Sports and Kitbag. The Rossoneri’s second alternate uniform for next season is the latest new strip to take its inspiration from the famous kit worn by 2014 FIFA World Cup hosts Brazil.
A host of Brazilian clubs including Palmeiras, Atlético Paranaense, Corinthians, Internacional, Santos, Coritiba and Bahia along with French Ligue 1’s Olympique Marseille have all release similar jersey in recent months.
AC Milan says that the new shirt pays homage to Brazil because it is the host of this year’s World Cup and because of the South American nation’s strong link the club. Current Rossoneri stars Kaka and Robinho are among a long like of Brazilians to represent Milan. Other notable ACM players who also donned the yellow of the Selecção include Ronaldinho, Cafu, Leonardo, Pato, Dida and Thiago Silva.
The AC Milan 14/15 third kit uses a new adidas v-neck design in a light shade of yellow with dark green accents and shorts along with white socks. Players’ names and numbers will be written in Milan Type, the club’s new official font.
AC Milan will debut their 2014/15 third kit on Sunday when they travel Atalanta for their penultimate Italian Serie A match of the season. Wins in their last two wins of the season could secure a 2014/15 UEFA Europa League spot for manager Clarence Seedorf’s team.
“We are extremely happy with the work we have done this year with adidas, uniting our tradition to cutting-edge technology and to an innovative design that blends the latest style trends to the long history of our colours, “said Jaap Kalma, Commercial Director at AC Milan.
“The next season’s third jersey is a special a tribute to Brazil: a country with an unparalleled football tradition and that will soon be the center of the football world. Our club has a special bond with this country and this shirt is also a tribute to the millions of AC Milan fans in Brazil who always supported us with incredible passion.”
