Nike has released an all black Brazil national team 2014 third kit. It will be available at World Soccer Shop, Subside Sports and Kitbag along with the Seleção’s 2014 FIFA World Cup home and soon to be released away jerseys.
According to Nike: For the first time, the Brasilian National Team has a complete third kit designed by Nike. The kit pays tribute to the dynamic and diverse country, from its natural landscape to its vibrant culture.
The third jersey uses a dark, almost black, shade of green, evoking the country’s lush landscape and urban nightlife. The deep hue sets off vivid yellow detailing of the team crest and Swoosh.
Similar to Brasil’s national home jersey, the third uniform displays an illustration on the inside of the collar. Created by Bruno Big, a designer from Rio de Janeiro, the illustration shows a hand in a figa – the Brasilian equivalent to the “fingers crossed” gesture, a traditional superstition believed to bring good luck.
The shorts pay tribute to another sport loved by Brasilians – surfing – with a longer cut than traditional football shorts. Blue, green and yellow horizontal stripes make reference to Brasil’s national flag. Green socks complete the look.
