Primera División Peruana power Club Alianza Lima unveiled their 2014 Nike home and away kits on Friday.
The Alianza 2014 Nike home kit is a classic v-neck interpretation of the club’s dark blue and white striped jersey. It will be worn in match action for the first time during tonight’s pre-season friendly with Uruguay ‘s Rentistas in the “Noche Mágica Blanquiazul” (Magical Blue and White Night) event at Lima’s Estadio Alejandro Villanueva .
Alianza Lima’s new away shirt is all white with a dark blue accented collar. Its design is the same as that of the 2012/13 Manchester United away kit.
The 2014 Alianza Lima home jersey became the source of controversy in Peru shortly after its launch when reporters spotted that Nike used the incorrect year of the team’s founding on the El Señor de los Milagros (Lord of Miracles) crest on the back of the shirt.
Alianza was established in 1901 as opposed to the 1910 printed. Nike quickly issued an official statement acknowledging the error and assuring fans that the incorrect year only appears on a few shirt used during the launch event.
