Published on

Brazilian international of recent times Luis Fabiano was officially presented as a São Paulo FC player on Tuesday at the club’s Morumbi stadium. The striker will wear the number 9 shirt for the popular Campeonato Brasileiro Série A club.

Fabiano returns to Brazil after a seven year spell in Europe with FC Porto and Sevilla. The 30-year old played for São Paulo from 2001 to 2004 before becoming well-known internationally for his goalscoring exploits (72 in 147 games) at Sevilla.

An estimated 45,000 fans celebrated Fabiano’s return along with club goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni, who scored his 100th career goal on Sunday. Fabiano’s deal with São Paulo runs for four years and is said to be worth €7.6 million. He is the latest several big names (including Ronaldinho and Deco) to sign for Brazilian clubs over the past two seasons.
