England defeated Mexico 3-1 at Wembley on Wednesday in their penultimate warmup match for FIFA World Cup 2010.
The hosts went ahead in the 17th minute on a header from defender Ledley King. A Peter Crouch goal from a Wayne Rooney rebound in the 34th doubled England’s lead before Mexico pulled a deserved goal back before half-time from West Ham striker Guillermo Franco’s close-range effort.
Liverpool man Glen Johnson wrapped up the game’s scoring with a magnificent curling shot following a spirited cross field run.
England will meet Japan in Graz on May 30th before opening their FIFA World Cup 2010 campaign against the US on June 12th.
