La Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF) has officially launched the Spain adidas World Cup 2010 kit.
Under the theme El Poder de la Roja (The Power of the Red), the 1980s-inspired kit was presented to the public at the Kinépolis de Pozuelo (Madrid) multiplex cinema yesterday with current Spanish internationals Iker CasillsaAlbiol, Marchena, Silva, Xabi Alonso, Negredo, Güiza, Villa and Xavi Hernández acting as models.
Spain will wear their new World Cup 2010 adidas kit when they meet Argentina on Saturday at the Vicente Calderón Stadium to commemorate the centenary of the RFEF.
Notable features of the new Spain shirt are as follows:
- The home kit features a strong red color selection paying tribute to the 1964 European Cup winning team.
- Inclusion of “La Furia Roja” script inside the collar commemorates the recent success in the UEFA EURO 2008.
- The new Indigo Blue away kit features colors found in the crest while the three stripes mirrors the national flag.
- The initials R.F.E.F. on the back is a reference to the proud Real Federacion Espanola de Futbol.
