Chelsea FC 2025/26 Nike Away Kit

Chelsea Football Club has officially unveiled its Nike away kit for the 2025/26 season, drawing significant inspiration from the club’s rich history. The new design pays homage to a cult classic kit from the early 1970s, a period marked by Chelsea’s first FA Cup and European trophy triumphs.

The kit’s launch comes as the Blues prepare for a 2025/26 campaign, with the shirt set to be worn in the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, and EFL Cup, as well as the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, where Chelsea will face Flamengo and ES Tunis in their new away uniform.

The colour palette of the Chelsea FC 2025/26 away shirt is rooted in the legacy of manager Dave Sexton, who introduced a distinctive away strip in the early 1970s. Sexton, noted for his tactical artistry, designed a kit as a tribute to Hungary’s renowned ‘Magnificent Magyars’ team from the 1950s. Their innovative play and striking patterns left a lasting impression on Sexton, influencing his approach to both football and kit design.

Originally, the kit featured a simple combination of red, white, and green, reflecting Hungary’s national colors. This design soon evolved into a white shirt with a broad red and green vertical stripe, a motif that has been subtly reimagined for the 2025/26 season. The new CFC shirt presents a refined interpretation, with delicate red and green pinstripes on a warm white base, complemented by matching cuff trim, offering a contemporary nod to its historical predecessor.

The launch of the Chelsea 2025/26 Nike away kit was marked by a photoshoot at London’s Saatchi Gallery, underscoring Chelsea’s longstanding ties to the art world. The gallery setting, chosen to coincide with the club’s 120th anniversary exhibition ‘This Game Is What We Make It,’ highlighted the artistic elements of the kit’s design. Kadeisha Buchanan, Nicolas Jackson, and Noni Madueke were selected to model the new strip, representing both the men’s and women’s teams and emphasizing the club’s diverse talent.

Nike’s latest design for Chelsea has garnered attention for its minimalist aesthetic and historical resonance. The absence of a primary sponsor on the shirt further accentuates the clean lines and classic feel of the kit, allowing the red and green stripes to stand out as the focal point.
