Reissue: Portugal 2004 Nike Home Kit

Portugal’s 2004 home kit has been relaunched by Nike Football as an authentic recreation of the jersey worn during one of the nation’s most significant football eras.

The jersey gained prominence during UEFA EURO 2004, where Portugal, as host nation, reached the final of a major competition for the first time in their history. The team continued wearing this design through their successful qualification campaign for the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

The Portugal 2004/06 Nike home shirt’s design features the distinctive Nike T90 template that was prevalent in international and club football during the mid-2000s. Key details include green trim around the crew neck collar and sleeve cuffs, yellow piping along the shoulders and sides, and the (Federação Portuguesa de Futebol) Portuguese Football Federation crest complemented by Nike’s yellow swoosh logo. Notably, the jersey features a tonal geometric pattern across its surface that repeats the shape of the FPF badge throughout the fabric.

Following the period’s styling, the jersey maintains an oversized fit characteristic of early to mid 2000s football fashion. The fabric’s textured appearance becomes particularly visible under direct light, creating a subtle but sophisticated visual effect.

The kit was worn by a talented Portuguese squad that blended experienced players like Luis Figo with then emerging talents such as Cristiano Ronaldo. Their campaign in EURO 2004 captivated the host nation, though they ultimately finished as runners-up in the tournament.
