The LA Galaxy and adidas unveiled the LA Kit at the Million Dollar Theater in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday night. The jersey will be worn for the Galaxy’s 2023 MLS and US Open Cup seasons. “The LA Kit honors our home and its history by embracing the colors of the Los Angeles city flag,” said LA Galaxy President Chris Klein. “We are thrilled to finally share the LA Kit with our fans.”
The green, gold and red colors used throughout the LA Galaxy 2023 adidas jersey, shorts and socksrepresent olive trees, orange groves and vineyards, while the jersey trim showcases the Los Angeles flag pattern featured on the neck and sleeves.
The jock tag, located on the bottom left corner of the jersey, displays the flag of Los Angeles, which was adopted in 1931. On the back neck of the jersey lies the LA wordmark with the quasar. Club and city come together in a mark that ties the initials “LA,” used globally to refer to the City of Angels, to the quasar, which is the heart of a galaxy.
Both the 2023 primary and secondary kits will again display five stars on the jersey to represent the LA Galaxy’s record five MLS Cups (2002, 2005, 2011, 2012, 2014). Both kits will also feature the Herbalife Nutrition logo on the front of the jersey, and the logo of the new MLS league-wide streaming partner, Apple TV, on the left sleeve. The City of Dreams Kit, unveiled in 2022, will return in 2023.
