Last season’s Japanese J1 League runners-ups Kawasaki Frontale have dropped their 2023 home kit from official outfitter PUMA Football.
The jersey was launched using PUMA’s global concept of “CELEBRATING THE ROOTS”. It has a light blue base with black sleeves and seven black diagonal frontal stripes.
The stripes are inspired by those on Kawasaki Frontale’s first ever kit from when the club was founded in 1997. The diagonal effect is based on the design of Frontale’s 2004 away shirt that was worn when the team won J2 to be promoted to J1.
Seven stripes are used to represent the seven wards that make up the city of Kawasaki and Frontale’s roots.
Kawasaki Frontale will kick off their 2023 J1 League season against defending league champions Yokohama F. Marinos on February 17th.
