The Deutscher Fußball-Bund (DFB) and adidas Football have revealed the home and away kits that Germany will wear at FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar.
The new uniforms will be worn by the Germany men’s and women’s national teams during the 2022/23 international soccer calendar.
According to adidas: Placed over the heart and detailed in gold, a heat-applied team badge takes center stage on Germany’s home jersey, whilst a bold vertical stripe inspired by the very first Germany shirt, elevates the classic clean aesthetic to new levels. Detailing on the collar and shirt bindings display the iconic colors of the nation’s flag. The away jersey captures the spirit of the team, using the colors of the national flag and blurring the ‘D’ of ‘Deutschland’ to reflect the dynamic football played by the squad.
The Germany women’s senior team will debut the new 2022/23 home strip during their September 3rd World Cup qualifier against Turkey.
Midfielder Lina Magull commented, “This jersey symbolizes that we all stand for football as one, and that we have common values and goals. We want to be successful and role-models for the girls and boys who love this sport as much as we do. We look forward to wearing the same shirt at the 2023 Women’s World Cup as the men at the 2022 Men’s World Cup.”
Winger Serge Gnabry added, I really like the new home shirt. There is real harmony in the colour combinations, and it will be an honour to play in this shirt for Germany at the World Cup.”
Germany is pooled with Costa Rica, Japan, and Spain at FIFA World Cup 2022.
