Mexico World Cup 2022 adidas Home Jersey

La Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF) and adidas presented the Mexico FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar home jersey on Friday night. The shirt is El Tri’s first green kit since 2018.

According to the FMF the Mexico 2022/23 home jersey is inspired by one of the primary gods of Mesoamerican culture – Quetzalcóatl, “the Feathered Serpent”. Considered the god of life and creator of the world and mankind, his unique strength will inspire the team as they participate in the world’s biggest sporting tournament.

The design highlights the image of the god Quetzalcóatl whose feathers and snake body symbolize the duality of human nature characteristic of pre-Hispanic cultures.

The shirt’s design incorporates a feathered headdress called “copilli” in indigenous language. It represented the power of the church and the nobles in ancient Mexican cultures while bestowing spiritual strength and courage on anyone who wore it.

The Mexico World Cup 2022/23 jersey features a bespoke design from adidas Soccer with an overlapping v-neck collar. The brand’s Three Stripes run along the shoulders in red. Red also adds contrast at the flanks, neckline, and waistline. The kit is the first to feature the new FMF crest.
