PUMA has released the home kit that Senegal will wear at FIFA World Cup 2022 and over the course of the 2022/23 international football calendar.
The mainly white jersey is inspired by the home shirt worn twenty years ago in the reigning Africa Cup of Nations champion’s World Cup debut.
When hundreds of millions tuned in for the opening match of FIFA World Cup 2002, they witnessed an iconic moment in football history. Senegal took the lead over the reigning champion France and the team’s celebratory dance routine became part of football folklore. The Lions of Teranga won, then went on to reach the quarter-finals in their heroic first run at the tournament. Twenty years on, the Senegal 2022 World Cup home jersey celebrates national legends with a retro design inspired by their era.
The new kit is detailed by the green, yellow, and red of Senegal’s national flag via a striking chest chevron and at its collar and sleeve cuffs. “LES LIONS DE LA TERANGA” is printed on the signoff area.
