Seattle Sounders 2022/23 adidas Home Jersey

Seattle Sounders FC, in conjunction with Major League Soccer and adidas, today introduced its newest Rave Green kit, Legacy Green, which serves as the team’s primary jersey for the 2022 and 2023 MLS seasons. The uniform is designed with a bold color palette and even bolder pattern, representing a club that has been built upon the culture of an active relationship with its fans and the community since the days long before entering MLS play. om later this morning.

Legacy Green’s striking splash of interconnected blue diamonds down its Rave Green front is the most immediately noticeable element of the kit – an energetic design that embraces the full confidence of a club with the winningest record in MLS over the last decade – but holds a deeper meaning. The pattern represents the connection between the club’s players and its fans, both stretching back to the birth of the Sounders name in 1974 and reaching forward indefinitely into the future.

The color palette of Legacy Green shines with added vibrancy, a nod to the history of Eternal Blue, Forever Green while paving the way for an even brighter future.

The jersey’s jock tag and back neck transfer are also unique to Legacy Green. The jock tag reads ’74, paying homage to the roots of Sounders FC in the North American Soccer League, commemorating the first year of the Seattle Sounders. The club celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2024, and this reminder on Legacy Green of when it all started helps bring the club to the doorstep of that significant year.

The neck transfer features waves of progress, an illustration representing the waters of the Puget Sound and the constant motion, like the water, and forward progress that Sounders FC embraces.

The team’s crest features its two silver stars: permanent recognition of the club’s 2016 and 2019 MLS Cup championships and a reminder to play for a third title.

Also appearing on the jersey’s right sleeve is the logo of the Puyallup Tribe’s Emerald Queen Casino. Sounders FC last year signed a multi-year partnership with the tribe and EQC that was comprised of multiple elements and highlighted by logo placement on Seattle’s primary and secondary jerseys, including a strong community-based component. The club proudly wears its affiliation with the Puyallup Tribe as a way to honor the Puyallup peoples’ enduring influence on the region Sounders FC calls home.

The Jimi Hendrix Kit, introduced last season, remains Sounders FC’s secondary option in 2022. The dynamic purple, orange and yellow uniform was inspired by Seattle native Jimi Hendrix’s love of color and psychedelic patterns. The design is part of MLS and adidas’ Community Kit line, introduced last year to allow clubs the opportunity to create secondary kits rooted in individual meaning for each team. The Jimi Hendrix Kit was conceived as a way for Sounders FC to not only honor Hendrix and his place as a Seattle icon, but, on a larger scale, to recognize and celebrate the meaningful principles of peace, love and giving for which Hendrix stood.

Zulily enters its fourth year as Sounders FC’s jersey partner in 2022, following an inaugural season in 2019 that saw the team claim its second MLS Cup championship. Sounders FC continues to prepare for the club’s 2022 season, kicking off the competitive calendar with a home-and-away series against F.C. Motagua in the 2022 Concacaf Champions League. Seattle plays in Honduras on February 17 before hosting Motagua on February 24 at Lumen Field. The Rave Green’s 2022 MLS campaign begins at home on February 27 vs. Nashville SC.
