FC Barcelona has dropped the 2021/22 Nike away kit that will be worn by its men’s, women and youth teams for the upcoming season.
According to Nike a purple color palette for FC Barcelona’s 21/22 away kit provides a modern, progressive look for the club’s road matches. The red and blue trims are in line with Blaugrana tradition, and the phrases “tots units fem força” and “totes unides fem força,” which translate to “together stronger” in female and male verbal forms, are embossed within the side stripes to signify the city’s unity around the club.
Symbolically, the color purple is used to highlight gender equality; the kit is included in Barça’s “More Than” campaign to represent the club’s commitment to women’s football and to female leadership in the sport.
“I think our younger fans are going to love it, it’s so fresh and different from anything I’ve ever seen,” says midfielder Aitana Bonmati. “In every look you find more intricate details; it’s the perfect uniform for representing this amazing club with its rich history.”
The monochromatic FC Barcelona crest reflects different colors depending on the view. A rainbow thread within the shirt borrows from the badge, while Senyera-inspired bars of yellow and red complete the neckline.
The jersey joins the new FC Barcelona home kit in the Spanish La Liga and European footballing giant’s 2021/22 Nike match range.
