VfL Wolfsburg today released its Nike home and away kits for the 2021/22 German Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and UEFA Champions League seasons.
Die Wölfe (The Wolves) will debut the bright green home kit during tomorrow’s Bundesliga closing rounding fixture against Mainz 05. Wolfsburg’s dark green alternate uniform will be worn from this summer’s pre-season.
According to VfL Wolfsburg:
The VfL Wolfsburg 2021/22 home shirt in bold green has several bright stripes, which create a lively pattern with different thicknesses of lines. The patterns are divided by varying white lines, which give the Wolves’ home jersey a sporty, fashionable and elegant look.
Vfl Wolfsburg’s 21/22 new away shirt also has nostalgic touches, as the dark green tones are reminiscent of the club’s colours from the 70s and 80s. The 2022/22 sky-blue kit remains part of the Wolves’ apparel and will continue to be used in the new season.
The kit will not only be seen on the pitch, because together with Volkswagen and the Autostadt, VfL will once again provide a special framework campaign for the unveiling of the Nike kit.
“#Nachtschicht” (night shift), the motto of the campaign, stands for the story of the underdog, who has battled with a lot of heart and hard work to reach the top – just as the Wolves have done in the table.
With the hash tag “Nachtschicht” (night shift), VfL also underlines its close connection with Volkswagen and its home in Wolfsburg. The new kit is also designed to reflect that. Harking back to the city and club’s DNA, its modern design is based on the prototype car known as an “Erlkönig”, and thus stands for engineering and innovation.
