le coq sportif has released a retro “Legends” jersey that is a recreation of the home kit worn by Diego Maradona and Argentina when they won FIFA World Cup 1986.
While le coq sportif was the Asociación del Fútbol Argentino (AFA) technical sponsor in 1986 La Albiceleste is now outfitted by adidas. Therefore, the AFA crest cannot be used on the Legends shirt. As a result the French sportswear firm has replaced the federation logo with a 1980s-feel number 86 on an embroidered crest that very much resembles the Argentina 1986 badge.
The number 10 is printed on the name of the kit in the same font used on the 1986 Argentina World Cup shirt. It was worn by Maradona in his exploits as the standout player at the tournament.
