Everton Football Club have released an amber and blue 2020/21 away kit inspired by their alternate shirts of the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Provided by the Toffees new technical sponsor hummel, the Everton FC 20/21 away jersey is mainly amber with the club’s primary blue at its rounded collar and sleeve cuffs. hummel’s chevrons run along the shoulders in blue.
The scroll look “EFC” print lettering that was the club’s crest from 1972 to 1976 is placed in blue on the nape of the shirt in tribute to the successful Everton teams of the early 1970s. Blue shorts and amber socks complete the Everton 20/21 hummel away uniform.
Everton captain Seamus Coleman commented: “As players we are all interested in what our kits are going to look like, and I am really impressed with this strip. It is very modern but is also a great tribute to the players from the late 60s and early 70s. As Everton players it’s always important to know and understand the history of our great club and this kit pays tribute to players that every Evertonian looks up to including Alan Ball, Colin Harvey and Howard Kendall. The retro EFC scroll design on the back of the neck is a nice touch and I am sure Evertonians will love this kit as much as the players.”
