FC Augsburg return to German Bundesliga action on Saturday with a home match against Wolfsburg.
The Bavarian club will don a special edition black Nike kit called the #AUGSBURGHÄLTZUSAMMEN2020 (Augstburg Sticks Together) jersey for the meeting.
The shirt celebrates the city of Augburg’s solidarity during the Covid-19 pandemic.
FC Augsburg’s shirt sponsor WWK Insurance approved the use of a specially designed AUGSBURG HÄLTZ USAMMEN 2020 graphic in place of their logo at the front of the kit.
“WWK Versicherung embodies the spirit of solidarity of #augsburghaltenzusammen2020 by not using its logo on our jersey. It also shows how closely our main sponsor and namesake of our stadium is connected to FCA,” said FC Augsburg Managing Sport Director Stefan Reuter.
“We thank our partner very much for this great gesture. the team will do everything to start with a win in the remaining nine games of the season against Wolfsburg.”
1,907 pieces of the FC Augsburg AHZ Nike kit are available exclusiviely at the team’s online shop. 19.07% percent of the proceeds from the shirt sales will be donated to #augsburghaltenzusammen2020 social service initiatives and the WWK Children’s Foundation.
