Primera División de Costa Rica powerhouse Deportivo Saprissa have released a Japan-inspired 2019 third kit from technical partner Kappa.
The shirt celebrates three-time CONCACAF club champions’ third placed finish at the 2005 FIFA Club World Championship (now the FIFA Club World Cup) in Japan.
Saprissa’s 2019 Kappa third jersey has a white based with the team’s primary claret appearing at the gold-trimmed collar and sleeve cuffs. The sleeves are gray with a traditional Japanese Asanoha pattern on it.
Japanese text reading “Third Place” repeats on the white section of the shirt. They also appear on the outside upper back alogn with other Japanese words with the rising sun of Japan’s flag at the center of the phrase.
Saprissa’s club value are printed in Japenese and Spanish text on the inside neckline with “2005” below then in larger font.
A golden patch reproduction of the 2005 FIFA Club World Championship third placed medal is applied to the lower left front of the kit.
Each of the Saprissa 2019 Kappa third jerseys are individually numbered. Only 10,000 will be available for purchase in Costa Rica.
