Former Italian Serie A club Piacenza Calcio 1919 has launched a 100th Aniversary kit from technical sponsor Macron. I Biancorossi (The Red-and-Whites) will wear the new retro-styled shirt from January of 2019 in Serie C action.
According to the club the jersey was created with the intent to retrace all 100 years of Piacenza’s history from their founding in the summer of 1919.
The Piancenza Calcio 2019 Centenary Jersey is red with white vertical pin stripes. The all-white collar recalls the Piacenza that, in the late 90s and early 2000s, was treading the fields of the most important Italian stadiums in Serie A.
The thin vertical white lines recall the 1980s, while the crest on the kit is that used by Piacenza in the 1950s and 60s. Finally, the laces under the collar are a tribute to the very first Piacenza side founded in 1919 by eighteen year old student Giovanni Dosi.
A right upper chest graphic appears in place of Macron branding to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Emilian team. Macron’s logo is embroidered on the outside sleeves however.
Piacenza Calcio 1919 is embroidered in white cursive font on the signoff area of the kit.
The main fabric of the jersey is woven honeycomb that resembles the material of a polo shirt. It has been made with a soft touch to give the feel of an old school football kit.
The Piancenza Calcio 100th Anniversary Macron kit is packaged in a collector’s box with the golden inscription reading “100 Years. A Century of History.” The names of all of Piancenza’s players of the last century are written inside the box.
