Superliga Argentina side Club Estudiantes de La Plata have released a limited edition kit from Umbro celebrating the 50th anniversary of their 1968 Intercontinental Cup title.
The jersey is all white like the Estudiantes shirts worn during their home and away Intercontinetal Cup Final series against Manchester United 50 years ago. This include the kit’s sponsor and Umbro logos.
The crest on the jersey is a retro looking commemorative patch recognizing Estudiantes de La Plata’s sole world club championship. “A la gloria no se llega por un camino de rosas” (Glory isn’t reach on a road of roses) is printed on red banners on the inside neckline.
A jocktag with the EDLP crest and an image of the Intercontinental Cup adorns the lower left right. The date of Estudiante’s second leg match at Old Trafford, “16 de octubre de 1968” (October 16, 1968) appears under the trophy.
As with all recent Estudiantes del la Plate kits, “Campéon del Mundo” (Champion of the World) is printed on the lower back region.
