Today, Panama revealed its home and away kits for the 2018/19 international season. ‘Los Canaleros’ will wear the latest design throughout 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia this summer. Both will be on sale at World Soccer Shop, UK Soccer Shop, Lovell Soccer, Pro:Direct Soccer, Subside Sports and Kitbag.
Inspiration for the Panama 2018 World Cup kit designs comes from the national bird of Panama, the Harpy Eagle, and the iconic skyline of Panama City demonstrated by the symmetry and chevron pattern to the front of the jersey. The inner collar on both kits features the writing ‘Alcanzamos Por Fin La Victoria’, meaning ‘We Finally Reached Victory’, from the national anthem of Panama.
Panama’s 2018/19 New Balance shirts have been engineered using innovative NB DRY technology. The Home and Away Jerseys wick moisture away from the skin to help keep players fresh and dry from first to final whistle. The kits are completed by a prist weld detail crests, bonded tape details to the jersey shoulders, a ‘Panamá’ sign off to the back of the neck and crew neck collars.
The home kit is a traditional Pan Red, featuring a tonal Red Pepper chevron pattern to the front of the shirt, with Red Pepper to the shoulder and back of sleeve. A Pan Blue concealed fabric insert runs through the side of the shirt and shorts with a Pan Blue cuff horizontal band detailed on the ankle of the sock.
The away design mirrors the home, presented in a bold White with contrasting subtle Pan Blue chevron to the front and full Pan Blue to the shoulder and sleeves. The concealed fabric insert remains Pan Blue for the away, as does the cuff on the sock ankle.
The socks for both kits feature an elasticated ankle zone and 2×2 rib Achilles region with cushioned protection. An additional cushioned heel zone and vented cushioned footbed and toe section have been designed to help players play with power, comfort and extra support.
Panama player Jamie Penedo, said: “We are all very excited to wear this kit at this tournament, it will be such a proud moment for the whole team and the country. I’m sure the fans will love these kits and will wear them with great pride.”
New Balance Football General Manager, Kenny McCallum, said: “Panama’s qualification for Russia was an incredible achievement. We look forward to seeing this kit on the world stage, worn by the players and the passionate supporters who will be following in Russia, back home in Central America, and across the world.”
