Wales’ Unplanned 2017 adidas Third Kit

Published on

The Football Association of Wales and adidas quickly issued a previously unplanned Wales 2017 third kit ahead of the team’s FIFA World Cup 2018 qualifier at Moldova on Tuesday.

The new Dragons strip was worn in order to avoid a potential kit clash between the Welsh 2016/17 home and away shirts and the Moldovans red primary jersey.

The Wales 2017 third kit is mainly yellow with navy blue detailing via its collar and adidas shoulder stripes. The look is reminiscent of many of Welsh alternate shirts of the past including their 2014/16 away jersey.

The shirt uses the crewneck adidas Squadra kit template released earlier this year. It will not be available for sale to the public.

Semi-finalists at EURO 2016, Wales are currently in second place in the World Cup qualification group with two rounds of matches left to play. The talented squad includes the likes of Gareth Bale (Real Madrid), Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal) and Ashley Williams (Everton).
