Four-time Brazilian champions Cruzeiro Esporte Clube unveiled their 2017/18 home and away kits ahead of Sunday’s Campeonato Brasileiro Série A 2-0 win over Coritiba.
Furnished by club technical sponsor Umbro Brasil, the Cruzeiro 17/18 kits are in the team’s traditional home blue and away white.
Both are inspired by the shirts worn by “Raposa” (Fox) during their glory years of the 1990s. Cruzeiro won three South American titles (including the 1997 Copa Liberatores), two Copa do Brasil crowns and six Campeonato Mineiros.
The kits use bespoke designs from Umbro Brasil reminiscent of the soccer jerseys of two and a half decades ago. The home shirt has a classic overlapping v-neck while the alternate features a timeless polo collar / v-neck combination.
The twentieth anniversary of Cruziero’s 1997 Copa Liberatores win is recognized by a golden jocktag on the lower front right of the new jerseys. The golden crown from Cruzeiro’s crest is printed on their outside upper back areas.
