India debuted their 2017/18 Nike home kit during Tuesday’s international friendly 2-0 win against neighbors Nepal in Mumbai.
The new shirt uses Nike’s ubiquitous Vapor with Aeroswift template in the traditional home blue of the Indian national football team. The shade of blue used is noticeably brighter than that featured on recent Indian primary jerseys however.
The kit is detailed with orange side stripes and collar taping inspired by one of the colors in India’s national flag. The player names and numbering on the shirt are also orange.
Ranked 100th in the world by FIFA, India will next wear their 17/18 Nike home uniform on June 13th when they host Kyrgyzstan in 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualification action.
India’s captain, Sunil Chhetri, adds: “Over the years, I have witnessed the India national team kits evolve as the game has. As we continue our journey in the world of football, Nike’s innovations in the kit will certainly help the team on the field.”
