The Zambian Football Association has signed a two-year technical partnership deal with Singaporean sportswear firm Mafro. Worth $200,000 USD, the new deal has kicked off with the Zambia donning their new white third kit in their 2-1 upset win over Portugal in the FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea on Sunday.
The former 2012 Africa Cup of Nations champions new home kit is in their traditional primary green while their away shirt is mainly orange. All three jerseys use a modern v-neck design. The home and third kits incorporate the red, black and yellow block of the Zambia national flag via a stripes effect on their mid-front that fades to the shirts’ predominant colors.
Ranked 98th in the world by FIFA, the Chipolopolo are still in the hunt for the first FIFA World Cup appearance. They are grouped with African powerhouses Nigeria, Cameroon and Algeria in Group B of continental qualifiers.
