Major League soccer expansion team Atlanta United Football Club unveiled their 2017/18 adidas home kit at The Tabernacle in Downtown Atlanta on Tuesday night.

The new shirt was revealed with modeling from players Chris McCann, Héctor Villalba and Andrew Carleton in front of a capacity crowd. The launch also featured a video with appearances from Atlanta Hawks’ center Dwight Howard and Atlanta Falcons’ defensive end Vic Beasley.

Available soon at World Soccer Shop and Kitbag MLS sections, the Atlanta United FC 2017/18 adidas home kit uses a classic soccer jersey fitted, v-neck design.

It has a red and black colorway reminiscent of that of the Falcons NFL team (also owned by Atlanta United owner Arthur Blank). Golden details appear throughout the jersey and include its adidas shoulder stripes, adidas logo and the “Atlanta United” print on its left sleeve cuffs. A print celebrating the team’s inaugural season in 2017 appear on the outside upper back.

The club says that the five vertical stripes on the front of the shirt represent their “five pillars of character – Unity, Excellence, Community, Determination, and Innovation. The core values make our DNA, who we are behind the crest, at our core, unwavering and relentless in our pursuit of excellence.” The back of the kit is all red with golden player names and numbering.

Managed by former FC Barcelona and Argentina boss Gerardo “Tata” Martino, Atlanta United’s best known player is former Sunderland, Southampton and Stoke City striker and current Trinidad and Tobago captain Kenwyne Jones.
