adidas Originals have released a reissue of the popular 1982/84 Manchester United FC home kit.
Worn by Red Devil legends such as Bryan Robson, Mark Hughes and Norman Whiteside, the 82/84 Manchester United home shirt served as one of the inspirations behind the club’s primary jersey last season.
Like the 1982/84 kit, the reissued shirt is in classic Manchester United red with a ribbed v-neck collar that is trimmed in red and black. The sleeve cuffs of the jersey match the look of the collar.
Subtle pinstripes run along the front and the back of the kit while adidas’ famous three stripes adorn its sleeves and shoulders. The classic Trefoil adidas logo of the 1980s (now that of adidas Originals) is embroidered on the right breast.
Manchester United won their first trophy in six years in their 1982/84 adidas home kit when they claimed the 83/83 FA Cup. The trophy marked the start of the club’s resurgence as they went on to win the 1985 and 1990 FA Cup before becoming the dominant force in English football during the 1990s and 2000s.
