Sporting de Gijón 2016/17 Nike Home and Away Kits

Real Sporting de Gijón enter the international spotlight on Saturday when they host FC Barcelona in Spanish La Liga action.

Now in their second consecutive season in the La Liga, Sporting Gijon signed a technical partnership with Nike over the summer following a four-year stint with Kappa.

Los Rojiblancos (The Red and Whites) 2016/17 home and away kits have seen action since the start of the ongoing season. Their home kit has their customary red and white stripes on its front with an all red back. It features a simple modern rounded neckline.

Sporting Gijon’s 16/17 away shirt is black with bright yellow detailing and sponsor logos. The Gijon crest on the polo collared jersey is also bright yellow.

Both jerseys have stamps of the city of Gijón and principality of Asturias flags on their upper outside backs. Unlike most of Nike’s 2016/17 club and federation kits, the new Sporting shirts do not use the firm’s AeroSwift design. Instead they are based on templates from the Nike 2015/16 kit cycle.
