Club América’s 2016/17 Nike away jersey celebrates the 50th anniversary of the team’s home ground, El Estadio Azteca.
Last season’s Liga MX champions new alternate kit uses a mainly claret. It is based on the primary shirt of Italian side Torino FC who Club America faced on May 29, 1966 in their first match at El Azteca.
Aztec-inspired graphics are printed on the front of the jersey while a single stripes in the home yellow of Las Águilas (The Eagles) run down its sides. The Nike logo and Club America crest on the kit are also in yellow.
The Club America 2016/17 away jersey is their centenary alternate shirt. It is the first from the Mexican powerhouse to feature the text “CENTENARIO DE LEYENDA 1916 – 2016” above its badge.
