Marathon Sports and the Federación Ecuatoriana de Fútbol (FEF) tonight unveiled the home and away kits that Ecuador will wear at this summer’s 2016 Copa América Centenario. Both will be available at World Soccer Shop and Subside Sports.
Launched using the hashtag #ForjadosEnLaHistoria (#ForgerdInHistory), the new jerseys are in Ecuador’s traditional home yellow and away dark blue. Marathon says that their retro designs are inspired by Ecuador kits of the past.
The Ecuador Copa América Centenario Marathon home jersey sees La Tricolor (The Tricolor) wearing a blue sash on their primary kit for the first time the 1950s.It features three quarter length sleeves that end in cuffs in the blue and red of the Ecuador national flag. Blue is also used for the waistline of the shirt.
The new 2016 Copa América Ecuador away kit has two gold lines on its front to give a partial sash effect. Its detailing, player names and numbers and FEF crest are all in gold. Like the home jersey, the alternate shirt has “Forjados En La Historia” printed on its inside neckline.
Ecuador are pooled with Brazil, Haiti and Peru in Group B of the centennial edition of South America’s international football championship.
