US Soccer Rebrands with First New Crest Since 1995

Published on

Using the theme “One Nation. One Team.”, the United States Soccer Federation today revealed their first new crest in twenty one years via a social media campaign involving a slew of US Soccer national team members.

The new US Soccer logo replaced a sometimes unpopular crest that used dark blue stripes instead of the red stripes of the USA national flag. The new symbol of the United States’ governing body of soccer features a classic shield shape within which are a series of seven red vertical stripes.

“USA” appears above the stripes towards the top of the badge for a look reminiscent of the federation’s crest from 1950 to 1984. The background of the design remains all white but may be changed to blend with future United States national team soccer jerseys.

Three golden stars will appear above the new US Soccer badge on jerseys worn by the USA senior national team. They are in recognition of the team’s three FIFA Women’s World Cup titles (1995, 1999 and 2014).

The US Soccer homepage was updated on Monday to include only images of from national team athletes and celebrities donning scarves featuring the rebranded crest.
