Cerro Porteño 2016 Nike Home Kit

Published on

Paraguayan Primera División Cerro Porteño debuted their 2016 Nike home kit during a loss to Rubio Ñú last Friday.

The new shirt sees the club that has featured well-known internationals such as Diego Lugano (Uruguay), Daniel Güiza (Spain) and Geremi Njitap (Cameroon) depart from their usual red and blue striped primary kit for the first time in recent memory.

Cerro Porteño’s 2015 Nike home jersey is mainly red on its front an back. A single white stripe bordered by dark blue stripes runs down the middle front of the jersey. It matches the color scheme on the back part of the shirt’s rounded collar. Dark blue shorts and red socks complete the new first choice look of the thirty one time Primera División winners.

Fans of Cerro Porteno and the Paraguayan media have dubbed the new strip as the club’s “PSG” kit because of its similarity in look to Paris Saint-Germain’s home shirt.
