Published on

Nike dropped their 2016 Black History Month collection. The 28 piece range includes a special edition BHM version of the popular Magistra Obra soccer boot.

To be worn by France and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi, the shoe’s upper features what Nike calls a vivid Pan African-inspired color palette, with custom geometric motifs. The boot uses a black base, collar and soleplate to highlight the stunning design. Nike’s 2016 Black History Month logo adorns the outside heel counted of the shoe while “THE POWER OF ONE” is printed on the its insole.

A fixture in the global sports brand since 2005, Nike’s Black History Month collections honors and celebrates Black heritage, in sport and beyond, around the world while also providing financial support to Nike’s Ever Higher Fund, which was created to bring mentorship, sport and all of its benefits to African American youth. It also pays homage to the achievements of black athletes worldwide.
