Mexico defeated the United Staes 3-2 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA on Saturday night to earn a spot in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup.
El Tri were dominant throughout the match. They went ahead 1-0 in the 9th minute on a goal from striker Javier Hernández before Geoff Cameron equalized on a header from a corner kick in the 14th.
Standout of the night Oribe Peralta put the Mexicans up 2-1 in the 95th minute. Substitutes DeAndre Yedlin and Bobby Wood combined to equalize for the USA in the 107th.
With the tensely contested affair seemingly headed for a penalty kick shootout, Paúl Aguila capitalized on poor US defending to seal the win for Mexico in the 117th minute.
