Scottish Rugby Union technical partner Macron have released the Scotland 2015 Rugby World Cup home and away kits. They will make their debut this summer when the IRB’s 10th ranked team in the world meets Ireland, Italy and France in RWC 2015 warm-ups.

According to Macron: In the amazing atmosphere of Murrayfield Macron Store, Macron and the Scottish Rugby Union have presented the new Rugby World Cup Jerseys for the National team that will be worn in the 8th Rugby World Cup starting on September 18th in UK.

Macron stylists together, with the Scottish Rugby’s counterpart have worked hand in hand to create a unique, taylor-made garment steeped in tradition that unifies the iconic, unmistakable Scottish Rugby Union tartan with the innovation and creativity required for a top athlete which gives the new jerseys both fashion appeal yet high-level performance that will surely guarantee the award of ‘ No.1 Jersey’ of 2015 World Cup.

The Navy HOME jersey in mono-stretch, poly+elastan fabric ensures maximum body comfort and shall be enriched by numerous subtle detailing that Macron is renowned for. Details such as the tartan texture on both flanks, bound by a thistle purple reinforced seam.

The same tartan design can be found hidden inside the sleeves as well as under the shirt style collar. The numbers are realized with a white tartan texture while on the back, between the shoulder blade, there’s a small pocket for GPS to keep athletes at the height of sporting technology. The World Cup 2015 logo is on the front right side of the chest; the official Scottish Rugby emblem is embroidered on the left chest while on the left sleeve there remains the Scotland Saltire flag.

After the huge success of the red “pride of a nation” jersey last season, the fans have spoken requesting a traditional “Back to the White” therefore by popular demand the alternate jersey is the white of the saltire with the same tartan texture and detailing of the Home jersey.

To Celebrate the Rugby World Cup on British soil, Macron has created a special, elegant suitcase packaging that transforms the Scottish Uniform in a real fashion Icon.

Macron’s UK and Ireland Sports Marketing Manager, Ross Cook added “As a proud Scotsman and an avid rugby fan, it has been an incredibly humbling experience to be involved in the creation of such an important jersey. Rugby World Cups on British soil are a very rare thing so this has been in the planning stage since Macron began the partnership with Scottish Rugby all those years ago.

Tartan is possibly the most iconic Scottish material that embodies the history of the country yet is very easy to get very wrong. We worked hand in hand with Scottish Rugby where our focus was always to create a jersey that is technically advanced, respectful to the culture yet embodies the passion that every Scotsman or woman feels when they hear the national anthem ring out at BT Murrayfield Stadium and we really hope that fans agree that we have achieved our goal”.
